Math -
We have continued our work on place value as we build our understanding of numbers into the hundreds. We have been using base ten blocks to represent numbers and help us develop a solid understanding of the value of each numeral in numbers. We have also been practicing how to write numbers using expanded form.
This week we also used the book, One Hundred Hungry Ants by Elinor J. Pinczes as a provocation to explore different ways to build 100. This challenge was a enriching hands-on activity that gave students a solid understanding the different combinations of numbers to make 100.
Social -
This week as part of our focus on Community: past and present, we headed out on a community walk to look at buildings in Ramsay that have had some historical significance. This experience was a great way for us to get out and explore the community around our school!
We were also very fortunate to participate in our inline skating residency. Students have showed their resiliency to , learn how to wear protective equipment correctly, learn new skills in addition to having fun!
