Hello Ramsay Families:

In honour of Remembrance Day, we will be collecting items for the Veteran’s Food Bank. If you are able to contribute, please begin sending items to school on Monday, October 25th. We will continue to collect donations until Wednesday, November 10th

 

Here is a list of their most desired contributions:

Collection list: (new items only please) 

  • Gluten free non-perishable food
  • Canned corn, mushrooms, beef, chilli or stew
  • Canned ham or luncheon meat
  • Juice
  • Flour
  • Unscented fabric softener and laundry detergent
  • Unscented lotion 
  • Dishwasher pods
  • Bandages

Thank you for all your support for our Veteran's Food Drive. We really appreciate it. We will be collecting until Wednesday, November 10th. 

Just a couple reminders about upcoming days/events -


November 8th - National Aboriginal Veterans Day

November 10th - Virtual School Wide Remembrance Day Learning Celebration 

November 11th - Remembrance Day : Schools Closed

November 12th - Non-Instructional Day : No school for Students

November 19th - Fence Art Painting Day - **** please send students in old clothing or with a paint shirt as paint being used will not come out of clothing. 


Here is a brief overview of some of the Learning Outcomes and activities we have engaged in this past week:


I can use familiar phonic knowledge and skills (letter-sound association, segment and blend sounds) to read unfamiliar words. (GR. 1)

I can apply phonic knowledge (long and short vowels, word parts, blends, digraphs, and word families) to read unfamiliar words in context. (Gr.2)


This week we continued to apply phonic knowledge to independent literacy centers which challenged students based on where they are at in their reading development. 





I can share familiar ideas with familiar audiences. I can ask and answer topic-appropriate questions to build understanding. I can read aloud with increasing fluency, accuracy, and expression to make meaning.

I can gather, and record data using a graph, pictograph or chart and answer questions about the data. 

Creating surveys about favorite things, asking our peers and recording our data using tallies and pictographs -
